台灣夙以風景優美聞名於世，為介紹寶島風光，並配合聯合國選定一九六七年為"國際觀光年"之號召，特選用台灣著名風景名勝四處為圖案，發行台灣風景郵票。

Taiwan (Formosa) has long been famous throughout the world of its beautiful scenery. With a view to introducing the island's natural aspects and responding to the call of "International Tourist Year 1967", a set of "Taiwan Scenery Stamps" consisting of four denominations is issued, each bearing a famous scenic spot in Taiwan as its design. A brief introduction of the four scenic spots selected is given hereunder:

一、澄清湖中興塔：位於台灣南部高雄縣境內，塔高七層，沿階而上，可覽全湖景色。

1. Chung Hsing Pagoda at Chen Tsing Lake: A typical Chines seven-storied pagpda is located in Kaoshiung County, the southern part of Taiwan. From the top of the pagoda, one may enjoy a panoramic view of Cheng Tsing Lake.

二、野柳：為台灣北部海濱勝地，以怪石野景，引人入勝。

2. Yeh Liu: A summer resort in northern Taiwan is noted for its white sand beach dotted with countless fantastic rock formatons.

三、彰化大佛：位於台灣中部八卦山之巔，佛像高達七十二尺，為遠東最高之塑像。

3. Buddha Statue at Changhua: The statue is placed on a hill top of Mountain Pakua in central Taiwan. It is seventy-two feet high, known as the highest statue in the Fareast.

四、中山博物院：院址在台北市近郊，為一宮殿型建築，外觀宏偉，內藏我國歷代文化藝術珍品約二十四萬件。

4. National Palace Museum: A magnificent palace-styled building situated in the suburb of Taipei. It houses the well-known priceless collection of 240,000 pieces of art treasures.
