交通文國家之動脈，乃一切政治、經濟、國防及文化建設之基礎。茲為介紹我國近年來交通建設進步情形，特以郵電通信、海空運輸及陸上交通為圖案主題，籌印交通建設郵票一組，定於本年十一月十二日發行。交通事業包括鐵路、公路、電信、郵政、海運、港埠、空運、氣象及觀光各部門。完善之交通設施、不僅能降低運輸成本，擴大產品市場，且可加速國防動員，促進資源開發及社會進步。
The system of communications is the artery of a nation. It is essential to the political, ecnomic, cultural and national defense reconstructions. In order to introduce the progress of communications achieved in Taiwan recently, a set of Commnications Postage Stamps was issued on November 12, 1972. Communications Services, under the supervisions, are composed of nine brances: Railroads, Highways, Shipping, Harbor, Civil Aviation, Meteorology, Tourism, Telecommunications and Postal Services. Perfect communication installments not only reduce the trasportation cost and extend the product markets, but also accelerate the national defense mobilization and resources development.
